Lucy Njeri Machoya holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Kenya Methodist University, and has vast experience, in-depth knowledge and skills in managing critical sections of a large academic institution acquired from her over 13-year work experience at South Eastern Kenya University. As the School of Law Administrative Assistant, Lucy is in charge of:
- Coordinating the administration of the School of Law and of the School of Law board, implementing strategic directions of the School in accordance with the university statutes, policies, and regulations.
- Coordinating admission, registration, and orientation of new law students.
- Coordinating the development and implementation of university examinations.
- Coordinating the administration of examinations, assignments, and continuous assessment tests at the School of Law.
- Coordinating submission of draft/final examination papers, and ensuring that examination papers and documentation are securely stored as per examination policy requirements.
- Coordinating external moderation of examinations.
- Processing registration of continuing students and their examination cards.
- Overseeing booking of correct units, finance, and accommodation registration bookings.
- Liaison officer to other relevant offices that interact with the faculty.
- Managing examination results in ABNO software, including posting the same on the student portals.
- Preparation of graduation lists for the School of Law board and Dean’s committee.
- Preparation of board documentation relating to examination results at the School of Law board.
- Managing and preserving School of Law board meeting minutes.
- Dealing with post-results inquiries, processing, and communicating with the Head of Examinations, and students.
- Coordinating compliance with the academic calendar for the School of Law.
- Liaising with ICT department on training of School of Law staff and students on ABNO software usage; custody of ABNO software Super User Rights.
- Preparing Council of Legal Education (CLE) yearly reports, performance contracting reports, annual budgets, procurement plans, and risk management reports.
- Representing the School of Law in committees as and when requested by the Dean.
